Each component of all Wave WiFi's products is designed and engineered for the marine environment. All Wave WiFi products exhibit high receive sensitivity and transmitter output power meaning Internet connections are possible up to several miles from a public access point (HotSpot).

Wave WiFi products offer outstanding performance because of the proprietary firmware technology embedded in each unit. The web-based firmware permits the computer user to scan for public access points (HotSpots) and provides a detailed diagnosis of each HotSpot's relative signal strength. The user can select a HotSpot that will provide Internet connectivity and connect to that access point.

Another outstanding feature is that any firmware upgrades developed for Wave WiFi products are made available online. A few simple clicks of the mouse and your system is up-to-date.

This same technology allows the user to access WEP, WPA and WPA2 encrypted access points. A graphical interface allows the user to see the signal-to-noise ratio in real-time. For the first-time user, a built-in 'Help' system is readily available by simply holding your mouse over the appropriate question mark.

All Wave WiFi products are Ethernet Converters (EC) allowing the Wave WiFi unit to be directly connected to all Ethernet enabled devices resulting in flawless performance as a standalone system or integrated into the vessel's network. With full-fledged computers increasingly becoming an integral part of the boat's network this is a valuable feature of Wave WiFi's EC-Series.

Because of Wave WiFi's built-in proprietary firmware technology there is no software to install, no USB restrictions and no power-robbing USB connections. This means better performance for plug-and-play computer accessories like SKYPE™ phones and webcams.

All Wave WiFi products ship with the EC unit, appropriate antenna, antenna cable, Ethernet cable(s) and power supply cables. A Quick Start Guide and a comprehensive documentation package (CD) are shipped with every unit.
